Every country has different rules regarding who is considered legal to drive. Your driver's license may be good enough if you are traveling to a country that reciprocates with your own. Doing your own necessary research about the driving laws, speed limits and norms and customary procedures in the country of destination. Never assume you will learn these laws after you get there. Learning new county laws on the fly is not advisable. Knowing what side of the street to drive on could be a major issue if you are unfamiliar with any of the driving laws. Being aware of such things is just another small tip with big rewards before your first drive.

When traveling abroad use a company that you know. It is always better to deal with a company that you are already familiar with when traveling to an international destination. Book your vehicle in advance with that company and take your confirmation number along with you on your trip. Most of the time using a company that you know can help you avoid some of the biggest issues that international traveler's face.
